Celebrating and Becoming "The Light that Brings Impact"
Abundant Life Community Christian Church is celebrating 16 years and our Pastor is celebrating 30 years. This year, she is reminding us and
emphasizing that we are the Light that God has ordained to change the
world. As the light removes darkness
from a room for as long as it is shining, so will our light impact and change
the lives of others forever.
Light was the first thing God created after the heavens and the earth. “Light is pleasant,” says the preacher (Ecclesiastes 11:7).
Light symbolizes the blessing of the Lord. Job said, “He floods the darkness with light; he brings light to the deepest gloom” (Job 12:22). God is described as light, for the LORD your God will be your everlasting light, and he will be your glory.
Jesus stated, "a man stumbles in the night because he has no light (John 11:10)." This way of looking at the Christian’s lifestyle reaches its high point in the words of Jesus to his followers: “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). We are to let our light shine before the world in such a way that people will see our good deeds and so come to praise God.
